As in past years the personal goal here is still the same, that is, to put before the public each year a bird that is a marked improvement over the previous year. Sometimes I’ve fallen short and other times I’ve moved ahead. Overall  the direction is positive.

Color is a factor here even though it is not of the utmost importance. I’m not speaking of color in the judging arena but rather my personal preferences. White has started creeping back in over the past few years. Not because of a genetic mystery but because of my affinity for Grizzles, Splashes, and Balds.

As an aside I am currently working with two new colors, Dominant Opal and Brander Bronze. This saga will probably continue for a few more years.
